Wine Cork Magnets

We're in the home-buying process, and I've started cleaning out drawers/cabinets/closets at night. Last night I found many wine and champagne corks in the back of a drawer, and thought I could certainly use them for something.
I glued some magnets on the back, and voila! Instant classiness on the refrigerator. It adds a sophisticated look to the line drawings by my 2-year-old.
I think I will package them in a metal tin like this. Maybe six to a set? I'm going to try and get to the Dollar Tree this week to stock up on metal tins. I made 18 wine cork and 4 champagne magnets in less than one hour from start to finish!
The champagne ones are my favorite, because they're all so different. And yes, that's a picture of me and the love of my life on our anniversary.

Starbucks Gift Card Wreath

When my husband was in seminary, he worked part-time at Starbucks. We collected a large amount of Starbucks gift cards, and last Christmas, I made these wreaths.
They're really unique and perfect for a coffee lover or anyone who loves things that are different. You could make one out of anything- a combination of different store gift cards, or even old credit cards that you've paid off or cancelled!

They are now for sale in my Etsy Shop.

Coasters

I really enjoy making coasters. They make great hosewarming gifts and really just any special occasion (or not so special occasion) gifts. They are simple and quick to sew. I make mine 5"x5", with batting in the middle. By the time I turn the coaster and iron it flat, the batting shrinks down considerably. I topstitch around the top, too. Changing out coasters on a coffee table or dining table is a quick way to update decor and change things up a bit.

My coasters are for sale in my Etsy shop.

Florida Gators Onesie

Ruffle Butt Onesie + upcoming football season = Florida Gator Ruffle Onesie

I had this white onesie in the top of my sewing closet. I dyed it orange with Rit dye (using the stovetop method, because I didn't want my washer to become orange!) and sewed on the ruffles, which are royal blue jersey knit. I used to always be afraid of jersey knit, but then I realized that it doesn't fray and requires no hemming- like felt or fleece! So, that was a major motivation for me to work with it- and you know what? It wasn't that hard!

This onesie is now for sale in my Etsy Shop!
